Are you feeling called to create something amazing and, at the same time, feel like you want to run away and live quietly on the beach somewhere? Ok, maybe it’s just me feeling that way.
I’m finally dreaming again and feeling called to create my deepest desires.
As I started to allow myself to show up again, be creative, and flow in new ways to express myself, I heard that inner voice saying, “Stop trying; no one wants to hear from you”, or “Who do you think you are? Play it safe, and don’t embarrass yourself if you fail.”
Discovering my gifts and releasing them in a new form is exciting and scary at the same time. While it is an extraordinary gift to discover things inside me that had laid dormant until now, I also realized I needed to work on believing that I had creativity within and that it was ok to release it in a new way.
We all have so much creativity stored inside us, whether painting, writing, singing, dancing, starting a business, or knitting and crafting. And yet something stops us as we step out into uncharted territory. It’s as if we need permission to tap into our beliefs and courage to express ourselves in this new way.
Our creativity is embedded in our DNA, yet in my experience, we need to release the inner critic and unleash the child-like faith within us. Children don’t judge themselves when they try something new. They don’t worry about the outcome. They just do it. They appear to have no fear when they set their mind to something.
When we keep our gifts of creativity to ourselves, it’s as if our ego tells us to stop moving forward, play it safe, and not risk our reputation or image. Our ego wants to keep us safe, yet nothing about creativity is safe. Creativity is entering the unknown and listening to the calling to create something new and beautiful.
What is it you feel called to create?
Take time to journal, meditate, walk outside, and appreciate the beauty all around you. As you do this, allow your creative mind to receive divine downloads as your spirit leads you.
Get a firm image in the eye of your heart and soul of what you want to birth into existence. What does it look like? Where will you be? What will you be doing, and how will you feel once you accomplish it?
Make your vision as specific as possible and speak it into existence as though it already exists. Take one little step every day to advance further into that creative endeavor. Keep taking steps to manifest your creative expression. Ask for it with all your heart and mind, knowing that God knows you, loves you, and wants you to have the desires of your heart.

I once heard that opening up to your creativity is a form of prayer. You allow yourself to go beyond your personality, ego, and judgments and open the door to your soul.
The expanded version of yourself meets you when you dare to open the door of creativity. You were called to create.
